First I’d like to thank everyone who participated in the 1 Year Blogiversary Giveaway and give an extra big thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the survey! I love hearing from you! A lot has changed in the past year, and Wildwood & Sage has grown a lot since my last survey. Your feedback helps me improve and give you more of the content that you are looking for. The survey is now closed but if you still wish to give me feedback please leave a comment on this post or send me a message!
The Wildwood & Save 1st Year Survey Results
Question 1: What brought you to Wildwood & Sage?
Tons of unique answers here! Loved learning about some of the ways you found me. Some have been with me for a while in other projects, others found me through the giveaway or social media. I especially loved hearing why you decided to stick around and stay with me. Thanks so much for sharing that with me!
Question 2: What topics are you most interested in?
Food & recipes came in first with 47.1% of the votes, followed by green & sustainable living with 23.5% of the votes and nature-centered spirituality and seasonal living with 11.8%, and finally self-improvement/authenticity with 5.9%.
Looks like you guys want more recipes! That sounds great! Let me know in the comments what type of recipes you want!
Question 3: 1 new post a week is…
An overwhelming 73.3% said it’s just right! With 2 days a week coming in at 17.6%. I was at first worried about cutting posts to only 1 time a week, but it looks like it was the right choice not only for me, but also for you. 1 post a week will be staying the way it is for the foreseeable future.
Question 4: If Wildwood & Sage were to open a shop, you’d most like to see…
82.4% said handmade goods, and 17.6% of you said digital goods! I do have some plans for both of those things in the future. I’m not going to commit to anything yet, but if I were to do handmade goods there’s a good chance it would be things like quilts, up-cycled bags and things like that. It’s just an idea at this point, but it may be something the future cards hold. Me and my new sewing machine are ready to make some things. I just need to get back into practice!
Question 5: What’s your biggest struggle?
Re-reading it now, I realize this question is similar to #2. Your responses were 41.2% with recipes (including food and green cleaning), 23.5% living more in tune with nature, living a greener & more sustainable life with 17.6%, nature-centered spirituality at 11.8%, and tips to help you live an authentic life at 5.9%. I will definitely be writing about these topics in the coming year! If you have any specific topics within these topics, then leave a comment and let me know and I will try to address it.
Question 6: What social network do you spend the most time on?
Most of you seem to hang out on Facebook with 52.9%, followed by Instagram at 35.3%, and Pinterest and Twitter at 5.9% each. Instagram is a social network I struggle with and really plan on focusing more on this year, so Instagram people, I’m trying to be there more for you 🙂 Facebook is going to be making some big changes in the coming year in regards to how you see pages in your newsfeed. I don’t plan on leaving it, but it may make it harder for you to see my posts on Facebook. So, we will see how these changes go and what happens.
Question 7: Have you joined the Wildwoods and what do you like best about it and think could be improved?
So glad so many of you have joined! If you haven’t joined doing so is easy, free and you’ll get access to free goodies and an awesome community of people!
If you are a member and want to give me feedback about it, leave a comment, shoot me a message, or share a post in group! I’d love to hear your feedback, good or bad.
1st Year Takeaways
My biggest takeaway from the first year of Wildwood & Sage is to listen to that voice in your head. I had this idea for years, but I was scared to embrace it. What if no one else liked it? What if I failed?
What was the worst that could have happened? Well I could be in the same place I was last year this time, that wasn’t really so bad. But, I took a chance and I’ve gone much farther than I thought I could! The ideas behind Wildwood & Sage not only resonated with me, but with you my readers as well! For that I am so happy. I’m so glad I can help you along your Paths, that we can all connect with each other and be united by our common interests. In real life I’m so often not part of the group, the people around me have different priorities, different life goals, different paths. It gets lonely sometimes, that’s why I’m so appreciative of you all. It’s nice to know we aren’t alone.
So my advice to you is whatever that dream that won’t let go is, listen to it. Go after it. Maybe it won’t work out, maybe it changes a long the way, and maybe it takes you someplace you never thought you’d be. Embrace that possibility.
To every single one of you who has ever read one of my posts, left me a comment, signed up for the Wildwoods or followed me on social media, thank you. It might not seem like a big action, but it means a lot to me. Thank you for all your support this past year, and I hope you will join me in the journey to come. Who knows what 2018 will hold, but I hope it’s something wonderful for everyone.
