How to Use The Grounding Tree Meditation:

You can either read and memorize this meditation or use it as a guide or template for something that resonates more with you. You can also record yourself reading it to listen to as a guided meditation if that works better for you. Before you begin, find a comfortable spot. Sit or lay down, whatever works for you. Remove all distractions, close the door, and turn off your phone.

Time Taken: 5 – 10 Minutes

Level: Beginner

Grounding Tree Meditation

Take three deep, slow breaths, inhale….exhale.

Release the worries that cloud your mind.

Focus on the moment.

Feel the Earth beneath you.

Feel it supporting you.

Become aware of your body.

Notice it. Notice how you are feeling in this moment. Notice the physical sensations that you feel, notice your emotions. Do not dwell on them, merely notice them and move on.

Envision a ball of white or gold light in your chest. This is you.

Feel the energy you contain within yourself.

Feel the energy travel down your spine.

It travels down, down to the floor on which you sit.

Down, through the floor of your dwelling.

Down through to the basement, down through the foundation.

Down to the earth.

These are your roots. Like the roots of the plants they go down, down to the very center of the Earth’s power.

Down further it goes, traveling deeper, through the layers of rock and dirt.

Down until it reaches the fiery Earth’s core.

It burst through into the core.

Feel the energy of the Earth meld with yours. Let it wash away your stress, your fear, your sadness.

Feel the energy of the Earth rise up.

Up through the layers of rock.

The layers of sediment.

Up through the soft top soil

Up through the foundation, through the basement.

Up through the floor, up through to you.

The energy travels up the length of your spine.

Up past your pelvis, past your stomach.

Up past your shoulders, through your neck, up to the very top of your skull.

Let the energy push through, blooming like the graceful branches of a willow tree.

The energy pours from you, returning once again to the Earth. Feel the energy cycle through you and the Earth.

Stay here for as long as you need.

When it is time to end, slowly, start breaking the connection.

Slowly draw back your long energetic, willow branches.

Slowly the energy stops cycling.

Slowly, pull back your roots.

Slowly up through the layers of rock, of dirt, of stone.

Up through the foundation, the basement.

Up through to yourself.

Feel your new found connection to the Earth.

Feel the feeling of being fully grounded.

Know you can return to this space whenever you need to.
